Camper Shoes came into being in 1975 and is a result of over a centuary and four generations of a Majorcan family dedicating their work to the shoe industry.

Over 120 years ago, in 1877, a craftsman shoemaker called Antonio Fluxa travelled to England to discover new methods for the industrial manufacture of shoes.

When he returned, he put together a group of craftsmen shoemakers and introduced the first machines for shoe manufacturing.

Later, his son Lorenzo Fluxa, inherited both his father’s shoe factory and his enthusiasm for shoes. He continued his father’s legacy of creating high quality shoes using industrial manufacturing techniques.

In 1975, fuelled by the historical and social changes taking place in Spain at that time, Antonio’s grandson Lorenzo, created Camper Shoes. Fusing new styles and concepts with over a century of tradition, a new concept based on freedom, comfort and creativity.

1981 saw the very first Camper Shoes store open for business in Barcelona. It was a revolutionary concept that incorporated graphical elements and functional display by sizes. The international brand continued to expand apace in 1992, when they opened branches in the main European fashion centres: United Kingdom, France and Italy.

To this day, Camper Shoes is the senior company in this industry in Spain, having maintained consistant activity in the sector for over a century.
