It’s All About Pima Cotton

Natural fibers and ethical fashion is a fast growing sector in our industry and more and more lables produce clothes made from organic cotton. American label Stewart+Brown produces the softest yet stylish tees and tops you can find and the price-tag although at the top-end for a tee, fairly reflects the quality you get. Not to mention the feeling against your skin when wearing them.

Danish label Jackpot also produces several pieces every collection made from organic cotton and most of our other lables such as Odd Molly, Sandwich, European Culture & Avoca to mention a few, although not organic they use great quality cotton for their clothes which washes beautifully and last forever.

The latest cotton-craze to reach the U.K. is Pima cotton. Pima cotton, as used by Stewart+Brown, is grown in the U.S., Australia, Peru and in very limited production in a few other locations in the world. Pima cotton is the most superior form of cotton and the difference is mainly in staple-length and strength of the fiber. Pima is seen as a superior cotton which is used to spin finer count yarns which can be knitted and wowen into softer, finer and more luxurious fabrics.

If you haven’t yet experienced Pima, it is time to invest in a Stewart+Brown tee. You will not regret it. You will love and cherish it wash after wash and wear after wear and once ‘pimafied’ there is no going back.
