The Truth About Odd Molly
Following on from Jasmine’s blog ‘There’s nothing odd about our Molly’, I felt the need to continue the story. However, my view is that there IS something odd about Molly. Something so odd that it makes me just love her even more. I am not a fan of average, medium or mainstream. I love the unusual and I like being a little bit different. Just like Molly.
When I first saw the Odd Molly collection it was, as I have said before, love at first sight. The fact that Odd Molly originates from Sweden made me like it even more as that is where I originate from too. Odd Molly is a label I had not heard of at this time last year but now can’t live without.
I love it for its quirkiness, mix of gorgeous fabrics, unusual designs and the fact that their pieces are not totally on trend and high-fashion. Odd Molly is quite exactly a bit odd. She is her own person with her own style and that is what makes her even more desirable. Being a Nordic girl I also like the way many of the designs remind me of our traditional folkdress, especially the traditional dressing of the native Scandinavian Same-tribe up in the north.
Each collection has its own identification, theme, design and statemental purpose. “You´re perfect because you are not” was a recent collection we really love the name of because it really does convey a very important message and makes you feel good. The current collections carry the themes ”Living tenfold” and ”Hands of a lover”. Molly hopes it confuses you but it doesn’t it just makes her more intriguing and the temptation of wanting more is there and on the increase. You can’t help but wanting to be part of her.
‘In a time where fashion has become a race between women to show who´s got more, Odd Molly slows down and highlights the little but important things that women have in common, things that unite. Thoughts, needs and reactions. Nothing political, no specific opinion, no do´s or don´ts, just a tiny little wake-up call as a reminder of good things we´ve forgotten while participating in the race. After all, what is more beautiful than a woman flying high from feeling good.’
Getting to know Odd Molly more and more as time goes by I love the way she thinks and how she sees herself…
‘odd molly is a brand with a mind, a heart and a conscience. odd molly is also a loving brand with high ambitions, still a brand that will never take itself very seriously. the odd molly mind loves to submit to its appetite for more, always being damn fabulous meanwhile’ and ‘we want to believe that our customers, great women worldwide, share the same cool core values’.
So, are you a fan of Molly? In fact, have you been ‘Mollyfied’? Has she taken over you life? Is Molly the first thing you think about when you wake up and the last thing you think of before going to bed? If so, the good thing is that there is no limit to how much Molly you can have or wear. There are no proven side-affects other than running the risk of becoming rather addicted. And there is no cure, you just have to keep feeding your habit by indulging in more lovely dresses & tunics. It’s not difficult is it???
The average ‘Mollyfied’ woman is between 20-45 years old with exceptions in both directions but really she could be anyone over an era of three generations. ‘She´s vain, but tastefully so and never afraid of opening unknown doors. The Odd Molly woman does certainly not follow. But she looks good and it doesn´t even show she´s tried. Now how´s that for magnetic attraction. We could namedrop dozens of intnl supercelebs that love, buy and wear Odd Molly but stay at that.’
Odd Molly is never playing hard to get. She is ‘within the reach’. ‘Absolutely not cheap, but affordable.’ If you already know her, you will understand why. Look at her close up and check out all the details that make her so special. Many pieces are handmade in order to get the best possible result. Quality is high on the list for Odd Molly and both fabrics and manufacturers are carefully sourced and chosen from around the globe to make sure that it will stand up against Odd Molly’s ethical conscience and other internal policies of delivering a quality product.
So there you go. Now you know a bit more about our Molly, what she stands for and what she does. And whilst waiting and hoping to find out more about who Molly actually was… or is… just enjoy the clothes.
