An ‘ista’ seems to be the title to add to your name these days. If you can not add your name to a group of ‘istas’ you may as well consider staying in bed. And if you really are considering staying in bed, then just make an ‘ista’ up as that seem to be what most do anyway.

Not often does the love-phenomenon happen at first sight in one’s lifetime. This season it has already happened several times. Marilyn Moore, Odd Molly and Avoca Anthology are three of my new friends who I am hoping to see a lot of over the next few months… or even years. I have only met them fairly recently but already I can’t get enough of them. I love their shape, their feel and most of all I love the way they make me feel.

London Fashion Week is approaching and it is the time of the year when my husband packs his bag, says goodbye to me and the kids and pretty much commutes between London and Totnes for a few weeks time in hunt for the season’s latest looks and to buy the collections for Spring/Summer 2008.

So many clothes, so many looks, so little time, nowhere to go and not quite enough money. I am talking about the new season dilemma which hits you every year when the new collections start entering the shops. I am referring to the dilemma of deciding what to buy, what look to go for and then breaking it down into finer details of actual want vs actual need. The other dilemma and breakdown you need to look at is of course actual cost vs actual budget. To find enough ‘needs’ to compensate for all ‘wants’ is a pretty simple task but finding enough cash to match the list of wants is slightly harder without letting your children go without food and shelter.
