London Fashion Week
Last week saw the take off of the buying-season with London Fashion Week heading the game. We were there!
Marquees on the grounds of the Natural History Museum in London’s Kensington hosted no less than 200 brands. According to the organisers of the fashion-event of the year it was the best LFW ever with a 30% bigger exhibition and the best ever attendance.
London Fashion Week is all about getting a good feel for what trends we can expect for the next season. With the New Generation Designers becoming more and more established there are many interesting new labels out there.
Dresses and heavy knits seem to be the style-hits for Autumn/Winter 2007 and colours similar to this season are still going strong with greys and blacks being the big basics.
Lots of accessories; bags, jewellery etc were showing which we obviously had to have a little browse through.
What we found really interesting was the Estethica section which seem to be growing in size and reputation every year. As everyone are talking about fair-trade, recycling and organics these days so is the fashion-industry with a lot of new labels popping up using organic cotton and other eco-friendly fabrics. We definitely find this interesting and are looking into different labels for next season.
LFW was a good start to our buying-adventure. Over the next few weeks we will be visiting all our current suppliers and a few new ones with hopes for exciting, interesting and vibrant collections for you for the next season. Watch this space!
