Sorry Valentine, Fashion Before Passion!

Filed under: All Articles, Malin Reports - Aron @ 12:29 pm -

Another year is gone and tomorrow is the for some dreaded Valentine’s Day while others walk around with tingly feelings full of excitement of what tomorrow will bring… dozens of red roses, little delicate chocolate truffles in red heartshaped boxes, some sexy, lacy underwear from Figleaves or for the very lucky lady some sparkly diamonds.
A recent survey shows however that “fashion beats passion”, so to all men out there struggling to decide between champagne and knickers, go for neither. Instead head for the designer-shops or click our product-pages for a little something to add to her wardrobe. According to this American survey women would be willing to sacrifice 15 months of passion for nice outfits and a glam look. So why don’t give her both?

See below “How fashion beats passion for women” as written by Barry Wigmore, Daily Mail Thursday 8th February.

It may come as no surprise to many husbands and boyfriends, but it will be unwelcome news all the same. Most women would apparently rather have a wardrobe full of new clothes than sex.
Given the chance to wear nice outfits and look glamorous, they would be willing to sacrifice 15 months of passion, a survey has found.
Some even said they would happily abstain for three years if it meant they could wear new clothes all the time.
The American survey found that 61 per cent of women said losing the favourite item from their wardrobe would be worse than giving up sex for a month.
And researchers also discovered that the average woman’s relationship with her best-loved skirt, dress or top outlasts her longest romance – clothes last 12 years, love affairs 11. The findings raised few eyebrows among psychologists and fashion experts. Anita Hubley, associate professor of human development at Vancouver University, said: ‘Women want to look great no matter what age they are.
Appearance is always important to them. If they are not talking about clothing an appearance, they are thinking about it. As they mature, they like to fool themselves that they look younger than they really are, and clothes are an important part of that’.
‘While sex is important, few women swell on it as much as men, especially in the 20 to 30 age group.’
U.S. fashion designer Carson Kressley said: ‘There’s an old saying that clothes make the man. Now we see that the right clothes can even replace him.’
The survey was conducted for Unilever, and researches questioned 1,000 women in ten American cities.
Unilever marketing director Helayna Minsk said: ‘Our clothes are very important in this day and age. For many people they are more than mere items, they are true articles of affection’.
‘The survey results are no surprise. Women think about clothes every time they walk down the high street. You can’t say they’re thinking about sex in the same way.
‘They are also more concerned than men about caring for their clothes, washing and cleaning them and keeping them smart.’
Psychologist Ross Goldstein sad clothes were enormously important to women, especially ambitious career women.
He said: ‘For career women more than men, clothes make an important statement. They concentrate on their jobs and what they are wearing or plan to wear. It is small wonder they have little time for sex’.

A quite funny little article, I thought. Is it true or should we just laugh about it and take it with a pinch of salt? Well a good balance between passion and fashion is probably best. As a woman, you just can’t live without either.
