My Wardrobe And Me…
Today I am on a mission to have a wardrobe clear-out! Read an article in the February issue of EasyLiving last night about four very organised women and what they do to keep things in check. One woman had a clear-out of her wardrobe every six months and got rid of all items not worn for a year. Oh gosh… that wouldn’t leave very much. I have a lot of clothes. Many fellow females, I am sure, would envy my wardrobe. The grass is always greener and all that…
However, despite it being full (in fact, will need to hint need of house-extension to my husband as more storage-space and bigger wardrobes are urgently required!) to the point that things fall out when I open the doors (obviously this has nothing to do with my untidiness…) it is all a wild mix of styles and colours with very little actually matching. This is a great problem I have. I add to my wardrobe without thinking of what is in it already and end up with things being left on the hangers or in the drawers as have nothing to go with it.
My wardrobe ranges from second hand bargains, homemade varieties, Top shop & H&M-buy of the moment pieces, a few smart suits and shirts from my days as a career-woman, a few more recent, more grown-up items from French Connection, Thomas Burberry and Nicole Farhi and tonnes and tonnes of t-shirts and vests in a variety of colours and styles. Obviously there are a few pairs of jeans; mainly Diesel but also Paige, Citizens of Humanity and a baggy size 32 Firetrap boyfriend jeans for lazy days, actually bought after the birth of my first daughter before having lost all baby-weight.
So where to start… what do I keep and what has to go??? I think it is time to be a little brutal and stop holding on to items stacked on the back of the bottom-shelf which hasn’t seen daylight in the past five years!

I have a tip that might help! I split my wadrobe into two seasons Summer and Winter. I then wash, Iron, dry clean and pack into a large suitcase the season not in use. Then place in attic. This clears a lot of space to buy more!!
